did I plaid match wrong?? Sezane Orlane attempt

how important is plaid matching? I made a circle skirt and I thought I did great, but someone claimed my plaid matching is wrong and not on the bias, and it really hurt my feelings. How do you plaid match on a circle skirt? Do you just avoid it? I was trying to copy the Sezane Orlane skirt.
