Visible mending is changing my whole relationship with clothes, anyone else gone deep on this
I've been on a slow fashion kick this year and just finished my first big visible mending project. Took an old pair of jeans I'd worn through and did sashiko on the knees. It looks SO much better than the jeans did when they were new and now I'm kind of obsessed. Has anyone else gone deep on visible mending? I want to try boro next, the layered patchwork mending is gorgeous when it's done right. The whole journey for me started when I realized how much fast fashion I was buying and how quickly I was throwing it out. Got rid of the Shein and Zara stuff almost completely and I'm slowly building a me-made capsule wardrobe instead. The visible mending feels like the natural extension of all of it, instead of replacing things you make them more beautiful as they age. Anyone have favorite resources for sashiko patterns or boro technique tutorials? Also if anyone destashes sashiko thread I'd love to find some, the Olympus brand is hard to find without paying shipping from Japan.
