Trying to recreate Anderson's Dior SS26 bar jacket with the looped peplum, where do I even start
Has anyone attempted to recreate the look from Anderson's Dior SS26 womenswear with the rounded peplum and the black satin tie? https://www.wallpaper.com/fashion-beauty/jonathan-anderson-dior-womenswear-debut - the gray one with the looped peplum at the hips is the one I keep coming back to. I'm obsessed with this silhouette. The peplum is doing something I genuinely cannot figure out, looks almost like inflated loops around the hips, and then there's the long black satin sash through the middle. The neckline is this dramatic deep V with wide black lapels. I've been an Anderson fan since his Loewe days but this is a different beast construction-wise. I was thinking I'd start with a fitted blazer pattern with a peplum and try to hack the rounded volume in but the more I study it the more I think those loops have internal boning or padding to hold their shape. Wool crepe was my first instinct for the body but maybe wool crepe with silk faille for the lapel and sash. Has anyone tried to recreate it or have a pattern that gets close to that peplum shape? Also if anyone has gray wool crepe or black silk faille they're destashing I'm a buyer.
