How do you prevent puckering on a long straight seam? Even with the right tension it happens.

Im sewing a long center back seam in a lightweight cotton lawn and even with what should be the right tension and a fresh needle Im getting subtle puckering all along the seam. Stitch length is normal. What variables am I missing?
