How do you mark the roll line on a jacket? Every tutorial does it differently.

Im trying to mark the roll line on a jacket front so I know where to do my pad stitching and pressing. Some tutorials use chalk, some use a thread tracing, some use a pin line. Whats actually best and does it matter what kind of fabric youre working with?
