How do you sew a clean bound buttonhole? Ive watched 10 tutorials and still cant get it.

Bound buttonholes are the thing that makes me feel like Ill never be a proper sewist. Mine either pucker, the lips arent even, or the back finishing looks terrible. Ive seen them described as not actually that hard but I am clearly missing something fundamental.
