How do you sew a clean collar stand? The junction where it meets the shirt front always goes wrong.

Ive made probably eight shirts and the collar is always the part that looks slightly off. Specifically where the collar stand ends meet the front facing, it either puckers, or theres a small gap, or the ends dont match symmetrically. Is there a method for getting this junction really clean?
