Anyone made trousers from scratch? What pattern do you recommend for a beginner?

Trousers are the thing Ive been avoiding for two years. I know theyre the hardest fitting garment. I finally want to try. Is there a pattern thats considered more beginner-accessible or is fitting just going to be a challenge no matter what I start with?
