Do you sew to save money or has it become more expensive than just buying clothes?

I started sewing partly to save money on clothes. Three years in I have a Bernina, a serger, a cutting table, a dress form, and a fabric stash that I refuse to calculate the value of. I definitely do not save money. Do you? Is that even the point anymore?
