Converting a set-in sleeve to a raglan on a coat pattern?

Working on a wool overcoat and the set-in sleeve on my pattern looks too structured for what I want. Id rather have a raglan sleeve for a more relaxed silhouette. Has anyone done this conversion successfully? Im mostly worried about the shoulder seam disappearing and how that affects the overall fit through the upper body. The pattern is a Merchant and Mills Landgate.
