How It Works

A quick guide to buying and selling on Hemline — shipping, returns, and payments in plain English.

Overview

Hemline Market connects buyers with independent sellers. Here’s how transactions work, start to finish:

  • Listing — Sellers create listings with accurate descriptions, photos, and prices.
  • Buying — Buyers pay through Hemline Market’s secure checkout. Payment is held until the buyer confirms delivery on the website, or automatically released 5 days after confirmed tracking delivery if no issue is reported.
  • Shipping — Sellers must ship within 5 business days of purchase. Tracking numbers are automatically included with Hemline Market’s printed shipping label and emailed to the buyer. If the seller does not ship within 5 business days, the buyer has the option to cancel the order and receive a refund.
    • Lightweight — $5
(less than 3 yards of fabric, and notions)
    • Standard — $8
(3 to 10 yards of fabric)
    • Heavy — $14
(over 10 yards of fabric and large items)
All shipments include tracking and insurance. Sellers print a prepaid label sent by email after purchase.
  • Returns — All sales are considered final. In rare cases where an order arrives in a condition different from its listing, buyers may request a return. Any return request must be submitted within 3 days of confirmed tracking delivery. Photos and tracking information will be reviewed by Hemline Market before any refund decision is made. If approved, the buyer is refunded and the seller does not receive payment.
  • Disputes — If there is an issue, buyers or sellers should contact Hemline Market directly.
